This is a Holiday Tradition for my Family. We button up our coats, roll the windows down and drive through the streets looking at the most remarkable Christmas Light displays. Sometimes we even get out and pose in front of the display!

The holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year in Windcrest, namely because of Light Up. Every year - for the last 56 years - the citizens of Windcrest deck out their homes in elaborate Christmas decorations complete with flashing lights, giant inflatables, elegant creations and extravagant designs. People from all areas of San Antonio have made it a family tradition to visit the "City of Lights" during the month of December.

Go on a weeknight for fewer crowds.

Windcrest is adjacent to the Interstate 35/Loop 410 interchange in NE San Antonio

The annual Windcrest Light Up is a decades-old tradition in which residents decorate their homes with elaborate displays of holiday lights. A contest is held to pick the most beautifully decorated homes in various judging categories and the public is invited to drive along neighborhood streets to view the brightly-lit displays.
